Whatever your New Year 2020’s plans might be, there will always be the New Year’s resolution. The very first week of the year is the best time to set goals for the upcoming months and re-think about your new lifestyle and your better You.
It is said the first impression never dies. So why don’t you think about kicking off your new goals by showing off a confident, winning smile? Laminate Lenses, well-known as Hollywood smile, are not exclusive for celebrities anymore, and the practice of applying those tiny shells is increasingly trending among common people.
But first things first: What are laminate lenses?
Laminate Lenses, available in the market as Veneers or Lumineers, are very thin shells of ceramic that, bonded to the front of your teeth, improve the aesthetics of a smile, by instantly correcting color, shape, spacing, height, width or even irregularities of your teeth.
What does Signature Smile mean?
While the classic Hollywood smile school focused on celebrities’ smiles, and hence basically how their teeth look (especially on camera!) the Signature Smile is the concept created by Dr. Maen Al Khateeb of redefining a ‘real’ person’s Smile by not limiting the focus only to the teeth, but by extending the view on the harmony and beauty of the face as a whole.
How is it performed?
This signature technique is performed in several steps: the first consultation will be carried by Dr Maen himself. Being a well-known Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgeon, and also one of the best cosmetic surgeons in Dubai, with more than 18 years of experience in the field, Dr. Al Khateeb sure knows what best suits you.
The assessment will first begin with the study of your facial proportions: by carefully analyzing your individual facial bone structure and relate it to aesthetic beauty proportions Dr. Maen will advise you on how to enhance your Smile by different methods depending on your case. These methods may include Botox injections in case you have a gummy smile, HA Fillers injections in case of lips and marionette lines, gum recontouring, Lip Lifting procedure, or dental implants or a combination of those to orthodontics or orthognathic surgery in more severe cases (You can find more info on these procedures in the flyers section!)
Once this is carefully discussed, balancing your needs and expectations, our Prosthodontist will study your teeth positioning, color grading and shape to perfectly match your face harmony and discuss with you the best option for you case, considering also skin and lips color!
Finally, our Digital Dental Lab crafts the veneers as ultra-thin so that lenses result virtually undetectable and for strength and appearance, they resemble exactly like healthy white natural teeth.
The creation of your Signature Smile involves a full Team of highly qualified experts: that’s why the Signature Smile is specifically designed using a computer-based software by carefully calibrating all aesthetic parameters and adjusting the design matching your unique facial features! Isn’t this awesome?!
Here how the process goes:
It all requires three visits:
- The first visit starts with taking an X-ray image with the 3D Camera in order to design your Smile with the help of the DSD Software, then to slightly adjust the teeth’s size and take proper measurements for the Digital Dental Lab, who will create your custom laminate lenses. Temporaries will be placed while your lenses are being created.
- After 3 days you will be called for a try-in visit to evaluate the perfect fit, shade, shape and proportions with the smile and overall face harmony.
- Once you are happy with the try-in, the final step involves securely bonding your new lenses giving you a fantastic, glowing smile.
How to take care of your laminate lenses?
- Treat them as your natural teeth, with routine brushing and flossing.
- Two weeks after your lenses are placed, you will be required to return to the Clinic for a follow-up visit.
How long will laminate lenses last?
Usually laminate lenses will last for decades. However, it is important to remember that specific properties of your teeth, and specific elements of your lifestyle, may change their lifetime. Refraining from using your teeth as tools to open and cut things will prolong their life, and if accidental breakage or damage occurs, it is usually possible to replace only the lens involved.
