What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is an innovative procedure in aesthetic medicine known as Epidermal Collagen Induction Therapy. It actively combats the signs of premature aging, such as winkles and fine lines, and it is the perfect answer for the treatment of acne scars and the improvement of the skin’s texture, tone and color.
How is it performed?
The device used for this procedure is made of micro-needles which will penetrate into your skin provoking a controlled injury. The purpose is to allow your skin’s natural wound healing process, with the formation of new blood capillaries, collagen and elastin fibres which may have been rendered ineffective as a result of aging.
This new growth results in the formation of smoother, brighter and plumper skin which ultimately gives you that healthier youthful appearance.
Does it hurt?
The area treated is cleansed and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied for 45 minutes prior the treatment. You won’t feel anything! How long will the procedure take?
The procedure itself takes about 10-15 minutes. How many sessions do I need to see results?
It depends on the severity of your skin condition. In general between 4 to 6 sessions are recommended, at 6 weeks intervals, although you can notice a significant improvement after the first session. What should I expect after the procedure?
You may experience redness for maximum 2 days, in some cases tiny blood spots that will disappear within 24 hours. Your skin will become smoother and radiant in a week.
Can Microneedling be combined with PRP treatment?
Absolutely. Best results are achieved in a Combo Treatment of Microneedling and PRP (plasma rich platelets) treatment. Check the flyer for more info!
