What are DROOPY BROWS?

Droopy brows happen either because of our hereditary factors or when the brow and the brow fat pad behind it drop over time as an inevitable result of ageing. This is usually combined with sagging of upper eyelids, resulting in a sad or tired appearance, aka “sleepy eyes”, which can, in severe cases, obstruct the vision.

Is there a way to fix them?

Aesthetic medicine has lots of solutions, really. Depending on the severity of the droop, your doctor may suggest non-surgical or surgical techniques that help to restore the brows and forehead to a more youthful look resulting in a brighter and refreshed eye and brow area.

What are the techniques used?

“Fox Eyes” by Max Fax™ is an extremely personalized procedure, as all Max Fax™ -based techniques.

The approach depends on each individual case and can be performed with 3 different methods.

• Botox injections – for younger skins: Tiny injections containing Botulinum Toxin around the eyebrows and eyelids to get an immediate lifted look. Time: 5-10 mins. Follow up in 2 weeks. Lasts 6 months.
• Threads – for mid-thirties to mid-fifties: A surgical biocompatible thread is inserted from the temporal area within the hairline and lifted up. Time: 10-15 mins. Lasts up to 2 years (depending on skin conditions).
• Brow Surgery – for aged skins: A small incision is made right above the eyebrow and the skin is lifted up and sutured. Time 15-20 mins. Lasts up to 10 years.

In some cases, in particular when the patient presents hooded eyes or undereye bags, the browlift procedure is also combined with blepharoplasty (upper eyelid surgery) to correct “sleepy eyes” and/or canthoplasty/canthopexy (lower eyelid surgery) to reduce under eyes bags.

What should I expect after the procedure?

The procedure, in all three different methods, is quite simple and quick. Results are immediately visible, yet the skin needs about 2 weeks-time to sit in place and take its normal position.

For Botox injections, a follow up session after 2 weeks is recommended, while for threads and surgery this is not necessary.

You might experience some pain as the temporal and orbital areas are very sensitive, although a topical anesthetic is applied prior to the procedure. You might also have some swelling or bruising in the site of injection/surgery which will be resolved in a few days without leaving any complications.
